As part of activities to mark its 10th anniversary, Teworh Foundation has held get together alumni tournament.
At the well attended event held at the Murtala Mohammed Square Kaduna on Wednesday December 28, 2022, six teams participated in the tournament.
They are, Teworh Force, who locked horns with Teworh Rock, Teworh Squad faced Teworh Grey, while Teworh Tiptoe battled Teworh Lads.
Speaking to our correspondent, the Founder/CEO of Teworh Foundation, Suraj Abdulwahab Olaniyi said that the event was a huge success.
He explained that the tournament attracted all their old and young players, including himself and some friends, playing for the participating teams.
“It was a huge success, several dignitaries were on ground to celebrate with us. They include, Professor Yahaya Ukwenya, National Organising Secretary of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Malam Abdulrazak Usman and Professor Simome Daniel, the Sports Director, Kaduna State University (KASU).
Speaking further, he said their efforts have caught the attention of an institute in Switzerland which has honoured them with a gold medal.
Teworh Force, the bridge between the young U-15 and the professionals who started the programme, aged 17 to 20 years emerged champions of the Alumni Tournament.
It would be recalled that Teworh within its 10 years of existence, has been at the forefront of engaging youth positively.
As part of its programmes, it holds an annual activity to mark the World Drug Day.
Last edition of the World Drug Day held at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, had a theme, “Hope and Healing From Drug Abuse Through Sports”.
