Earlier on Saturday, at the instance of His Excellency,  Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,  CON,  we  were at the Dadinkowa treatment plant, in company of AG Dr. Aminu Umar Yuguda, Hon. Commissioner of Water Resources,  Mohammed Saidu Mohammed Fawu,  GM Water Board, JED Regional Manager, CGC tem lead, and other officials for an ‘on the spot’ assessment of the emergency work, and to encourage the technical team fixing the electrical faults that occurred as a result of windstorm which caused water supply disruption to Gombe Metropolis and environs.
The technical team had earlier replaced all the 31 broken down electric poles, fixed the power cables and restored electricity supply to the water treatment plant which enabled the production of millions of litres since Wednesday and pumping of same earlier today to the public before another glitch halted the process,  albeiit temporarily.
As confirmed by the Commissioner of Water Resources,  everything is now in place,  with water now being transported from Dadinkowa treatment plant to the lower and upper zones in Gombe for onward distribution to the people any moment.
AG Yuguda however insisted that stop gap measures must be taken, and reminded of His Excellency’s directive to ensure that Malam Inna and Wuro Juli water projects become fully operational soonest to guard against this type of ugly situation.
Kudos to the combined team led by Commissioner Fawu for the tireless effort, and thank you Gomawa for the understanding, solidarity and generosity demonstrated.
