A group of people living with disabilities from Kano State has called on  the Bola Tinubu-led federal government to do  whatever it could to ensure that Kano State is not destabilized.
This was made known in a statement signed by its convener, Sagir Ibrahim, made available yesterday.
Together with other well-wishers, the people with disabilities yesterday, gathered at Karonmajigi community in Abuja to draw global attention to the need for restoration of peace in the state.
They were referring to the governorship election in the state which outcome is now being challenged in the Supreme Court after strange judgements were delivered at the lower courts.
They called on the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to save democracy and also save Kano State from a conflagration.
“We voted for Abba Kabir Yusuf, not Gawuna,” they stated, adding that, in spite of their physical challenges, they still travelled back home to vote for Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf.
They said Governor Yusuf was so caring and passionate about Kano. During the distribution of items donated as palliatives, he specially set aside items for people living with disabilities. Less than seven months in office, he has made tremendous improvements and progress in governance and for the state in general.
They requested the Supreme Court to ensure that justice is dispensed without fear or favour in order to sustain the people’s confidence in the judiciary.
They highlighted the impact Abba Yusuf’s administration has made in their lives since his assumption of office. With a strong voice, they called on President Bola Tinubu not to disappoint the people of Kano. One of them said, “We still believe in the judiciary; we are optimistic they will do justice to the case.”
