*Suspect confesses, says action taken because she jilted him

A suspect who allegedly murdered his ex girlfriend has been arrested from a planned mob action that would have led to his death and frustrated investigations.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Muhammad Jalige, yesterday.
“On the 14/04/2023 at about 21:30hrs, information was received that a crowd had gathered at NEPA Round About and they were beating and about to lynch a suspect.
“Operatives were mobilized to the scene where they met the suspect in the midst of the crowd lying unconscious,” it said.
According to the statement, information gathered revealed that the suspect by name Kenneth, second name not yet known, attacked his ex girl friend, named Ebenezer Agada “F” aged 27yrs old of Command Secondary and Nursery Sokoto Road, with a matchet and inflicted multiple injuries on her face and hands.
“In the process, he cut off her left hand completely, alleging that he spent a lot on her and she want to dump him for another man.
“The victim was rushed to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital for treatment where a medical doctor on call confirmed her dead,” it informed.
It added that the corpse of the victim Ebenezer Agada has been deposited at a mortuary and investigation is currently ongoing.
