Appointment: North Central Forum Makes Case For Better Placement Of Abioye

The North Central People’s Forum has urged President Bola Tinubu to correct anomaly in placement of Hon Tajudeen Abioye in the reconstituted Federal Tertiary Institutions Governing Councils.

North Central People’s Forum comprises member across different political lines with objective to promote the region.

The Forum’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Jimoh Yusuf made this call in a statement issued on Friday, noting that Hon Tajudeen Abioye is a loyal and committed APC member who deserves better treatment.

According to him, Hon Tajudeen Abioye from Kwara State played achieve roles to ensure victory of the All Progressives Congress during 2023 general elections was named as Chairman Governing Council YABATECH in first list released in May 2024 but he now a Governing Council member at Federal Polytechnic Mubi.

Yusuf implored President Bola Tinubu not to allow the reoccurrence of 2017 experience when his appointment as Director General National oil Spill detection and response agencies (NODRA) was blocked due to his strong commitment to progressives struggle.

He also narrated that the ordeal of Abioye who won APC primary election for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency ahead of 2023 general elections but the ticket was withdrawn from him by Supreme Court.

His words: “We acknowledge that the President can reassign another Institution to Chief Tajudeen Abioye but it’s shocking to see him as ordinary member.

“We humbly appeal to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and President Bola Tinubu to address this error and place Chief Tajudeen Abioye properly to ensure him add value to Renewed Hope administration. Abioye possess requisite credentials and experience to chair Governing Council of any Federal Institution in the country.”

The group therefore, appealed to President Bola Tinubu to correct the anomaly in the Federal Institutions Governing Councils composition.
