Rivers Hoopers Records Second Win At BAL’s 2024 Sahara Conference

Nigeria’s Rivers Hoopers have recorded back to back wins at the ongoing Basketball Africa League season 4 Sahara Conference in Dakar, Senegal.
The King’s Men as the Hoopers are fondly called narrowly escaped the grit of the Rwandan team, APR by winning the tightly contested game, 86 to 82 points.
Rivers Hoopers won the 1st and 3rd quarters respectively by a single point while the 2nd quarter was tied at 40 points each indicating a keen contest by both teams.
Will Pery, Rivers Hoopers player of United States of America origin who plays as a point guard stole the show recording the most valuable player performance with 31 points scored, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
With the two wins recorded, Rivers Hoopers lead the Sahara Conference table after match day two followed by AS Douanes with one win after defeating US Monastir of Tunisia by 76 to 59 points on match day two. APR is in third place with a win against US Monastir in match day one and the Tunisian team is the bottom of the log.
Four matchdays are remaining in the Sahara Conference to resume on Tuesday, 7th May 2024. Two top teams and a possibly best third-placed at the end of Sahara Conference will qualify automatically to the BAL final playoffs in Kigali, Rwanda later in May 2024.
