Women in Kaduna State have been urged to embrace and participate actively in politics, to ensure credible representation at all elective positions.
The charge was handed out at a one day event organised by Gidan Yanci Fellows of Kaduna State, as part of activities to mark the 2024 International Women’s Day (IWD).
The IWD event with the theme, “invest in women” was held at the Yandy Tech on March 9, with the sub theme, “Accelerate progress.”
The event was targeted at celebrating women, while sensitizing them on the need to get involved in governance and decision making at the grassroots.
The participants at the event were over 30 persons, with majorly women.
It was held in partnership with Governance For All Initiative and to commemorate the special day.
During the event, there were break out sessions on political participation and financial literacy for women.
The event ended with closing remarks from both programme leads of the Gidan Yanci Fellowship Kaduna, Miss Grace Hosea and Mr Mohammed Yayandi who urged women to take the lead and actively participate in politics , governance and decision making especially at the grassroots.
