Youth in Kaduna State, have been urged to take advantage of the Citizens App   in monitoring projects, rating  quality and giving feedback to government.
Making a presentation on, “Understanding Eyes and Ears Project with Focus on Citizens Feedback App”  on day two of a two-day session in Zaria, organised by #OpenGov Youth Innovation Hub with support from PERL, on  Saturday December 2,
2023,  Mr. Tara Jeremiah  of the Planning and Budget Commission, said that the app is very important, because  it is citizens who will give the government honest feedback.
“Because there was need to broaden citizens feedback, it was expanded, the governor sees all through the Eyes and Ear App and Citizens Feedback App. The app is on Playstore at the moment and can be downloaded.
“The app allows you to interact with it, you can either put your email or you are anonymous with your feedback.  When you give us complain, we scale it up to the governor and he orders for its fixing.
“When you launch it, it is geo coordinate,  it searches for projects close to you. We are trying to integrate KADPPA  so that citizens can give us feedback.
“As you launch the app, it shows projects that are about two kilometres to where you are and choose which you are giving feedback on. When you pick a project on the app, it tells you to rate the project. For instance, if a contractor is not on site for up to three months, you tell us and we scale it up to the governor,” he explained.
Speaking further, he said that  the app makes the government to make moves, “lets nobody to be relaxed when there is service to be delivered.”
However, he informed that the app is  only on Android phones at the moment, but they are making efforts to put it on IOS and captures only state government projects  at the moment, but will be upgraded to also cover local government projects.
