Commissioner of Police Kaduna State Command, CP M.Y. Garba has while greeting Muslim faithful in the state, and also assured them that adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure hitch free Sallah celebration.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Muhammad Jalige, made available yesterday, said Area Commanders, DPOd and Tactical Commanders were directed to ensure 24 hours patrol.
“In furtherance of the foregoing, the Commissioner of Police directed all the Area Commanders and their Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) as well as Tactical Commanders to mobilized all Operational and intelligence assets at their disposal for protection of all major highways, places of worship, recreational and other facilities to ensure hitch free celebration.
“He has further ordered 24- hours high visibility patrol around all the nooks and crannies of the state to ensure members of the public celebrate Sallah in peace and confidence,” it said.
The Commissioner of Police further thanked the residents of the state and also advised road users to be careful and vigilant while on the highways, obey all traffic rules and cooperate with law enforcement and safety agents on the road.
“Members of public are enjoined to report any suspicious movement and objects to the nearest Police/Security formation or call police emergency numbers on: 07039675856 or 08075391105,” the statement informed.
