The Immediate Past Chief Servant of the Association of Catholic Trained Evangelizers of Nigeria (ACTEN), Zaria, Evang PC Alika appealed to the leadership of the Diocese to equip the body with a bus so that they may spread the Gospel more effectively. Reminding the administrator of previous requests that were made for the vehicle, he stated the importance of the bus to their work expressing hope that their appeal would yield positive response. “Our focus, our dream is in line with that of the diocese. From day one since 2006, the dream of our late bishop is on evangelization. He told us to focus on the rural areas. That is why all our outreaches have been in rural areas. But there is one thing we are been asking for – we need a bus. We want to achieve that dream of our late bishop and that is why we are requesting for a bus. We wrote and we are still praying. We remain with you and we will do that which the Church wants us to do.”

The administrator had at the retreat called on the commissioned in the diocese to evangelize the remotest parts of the diocese with the Word of God disclosing that the future of the diocese lies greatly in the rural areas since major parishes in the urban parts are becoming more and more depopulated and weakened due to retirement, unemployment and insecurity.
