While making reference to the circular AFN/COR/GC/001/Vol.III/66 dated 13th March, 2023 inviting all states athletics associations, Clubs and all Stakeholders to Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) All Comers Competition/U-18 and U-20 National Trials, AFN has announced postponement of the widely publicized event.
This was contained in a statement made available to our correspondent yesterday, signed by Mrs Rita Mosindi (Secretary General). It explained that the event sheduled to hold between March 24 to 25, 2023, has been postponed, due to the recently concluded general elections. ” I wish to inform you that due to the late conclusion and declaration of results of Gubernatorial Elections in some states in the country, the Federation considered it paramount to shift the dates of the above Competition and Trials to 30-31 March, 2023 at the same venue, Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna,” it said.
AFN explained that in view of the foregoing, the closing dates for entries has been extended further till midnight March 26, 2023 to give room for states and clubs that were unable to meet the earlier set deadline to take advantage of the extension.”The Federation regrets any inconvenience the postponement may have caused,” it said.
