Kuje Jail Break: CP Visits Kaduna Custodial Centre, Assures On Security

Following the recent prison break recorded at the Kuje Custodial Centre in Abuja, the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, CP Yekini Ayoku has visited the Medium Custodial Centre in Kaduna metropolis.

A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Muhammed Jalige, said the visit embarked upon on Monday July 18 was to strengthen interagency collaboration and an assessment tour of the facility.

“On 18th July, 2022, the Commissioner of Police Kaduna command, CP Yekini A. Ayoku psc(+),mni paid operational visit to the Kaduna Medium Security Custodial Centre located along Independence Way to assess, review and strengthen the security deployment around the facility to forestall any untoward occurrence. 

“The CP visited the center in company of the command’s Tactical Commanders where issues bordering on the upgrade of the security of the facility were evaluated with the Comptroller of Corrections Kaduna Command CC Ado Sale in an effort towards rejigging the emplacement measures. 

“On his part, the Comptroller appreciated the CP for the visit and the  professional advice rendered while seeking for renewed synergy between the two services. 

“The CP assured of the Police Command and other sister security agencies of a continuous support in safeguarding the external perimeters of all custodial centers in the State against internal and external aggression in line with the directive of Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba psc(+), NPM, fdc,” it said.
