Prof Duru oriented those present at the event, ssoliciting cooperation of all and sundry. His word, “The essence of this occasion is to thank God for His mercies and grace on behalf of the Igwe family. Igwe has given out all his daughter in marriage and it is a great one. It is something worth celebrating. This is also a special occasion to appreciate and support the Igwe and to be able to celebrate with him. This is a time to appreciate the family for what they have been able to accomplish in terms of giving out all the daughters in marriage.”

In an interview with dailyupdates.news thereafter, the traditional Prime Minister (Onowu), Chief Sir Ephraim Umeasiegbu expressed how happy he was with the first Igbo family in Zaria. He equally called on Ndigbo in Zaria to remain law abiding and peace seeker as well as desist from any conduct that is capable of tarnishing their image.

Before the reception, the leading family offered a special thanksgiving at the parish, Good Shepherd, Graceland, Zaria where the Parish Priest, Very Rev Fr Michael Kagarko tasked families to have a family prayer habit. “Communal prayer is very important,” asserted the priest. “Group prayer is very important. Do you call your family every morning to pray as a family? Do you have the time to call your children every night for prayer? Do you have time for personal prayer?”
