Member representing Lokoja-Kogi/KKF Federal Constituency, Honourable Danladi Suleiman Aguye, has described the victory of the party and emergence of its candidate, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, in Saturday’s election as a reflection of the goodwill of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello and the people of Kogi State.
Hon. Aguye said this in a congratulatory statement issued after the official declaration by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), confirming Alh. Ododo’s victory, with an overwhelming 447, 237 votes.
The lawmaker stated that, the strong foundation on which the candidacy and eventual affirmation of the party and candidate emerged, is a result of the capacity demonstrated in the governance of the state, as reflected in the gains recorded within the last eight years. He maintained that, the result of good work is more work, as openly expressed by the good people of the state in their choice for the party and its candidate.
Hon. Aguye appreciated the Executive Governor, Dr. Yahaya Bello, the party leadership and stakeholders across all levels for making the victory of the party a reality.
He also acknowledged the Governor-Elect, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, whom he described as performance-oriented, for his commitment to open governance and carrying everyone along, as exemplified by Gov. Bello over the years.
He commended the steadfastness and resilience of the people of Lokoja-Kogi/KKF constituency in particular, while commending them for flying the flag of the party high above the others in their committed choices during the election.
He noted with satisfaction, the overall peaceful conduct of his constituents and INEC’s improvement in service delivery during the elections, particular in the logistics of challenging terrains within his constituency.
He urged the people to rally round in solidarity to consolidate the legacies of the party in the new leadership that has been chosen, adding that, the journey to better days ahead has just begun.
