Governor Inuwa Yahaya Attends Maiden Convocation Of Nigerian Army University, Biu

The Chairman of Northern Governors’ Forum and Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, on Saturday,  graced the maiden convocation ceremony of the Nigeria Army University, Biu, where he emphasized the importance of the educational institution to the North-East sub-region.
A statement signed by the DG (Press Affairs), Government House Gombe, Ismaila Uba  Misilli, made available on Saturday, said that  in an interview with newsmen, the governor praised the establishment of the Army University and its potential to bring significant positive change to the North-East, particularly in light of the security challenges faced in the area.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya who expressed his admiration for the university’s commitment to excellence, noted that the National University Commission deserved commendation for ensuring that the institution met high standards.
The Gombe State Governor was not only present at the convocation but also actively participated in the ceremony’s academic procession.
One of the key highlights of Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s engagement at the convocation was his commissioning of a state-of-the-art civil engineering teaching workshop, a multimillion-naira investment constructed by the Borno State Government.
He commended the quality of some of the facilities he had the privilege to commission, expressing his belief that the university would contribute immensely to the development of the region in the near future.
The governor also joined in the official ground-breaking ceremony for the staff housing unit at the university, led by Borno State Deputy Governor, Umar Usman Kadafur.
 He also supported Borno State Governor,  Babagana Umara Zulum, former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd), and Vice Chancellor of Bauchi State University, Professor Fatima Tahir, as they commissioned various projects during the event.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya used the opportunity of his visit to Biu to pay royal homage to the Emir of Biu, Dr.  Umar Mustapa II, at his palace.
 During the visit, the governor reaffirmed the long-standing relationship between Gombe State and the Biu Emirate.
He also expressed his gratitude for the Chieftaincy title bestowed upon his friend, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd), as Betaran Biu,  emphasizing that this recognition signified the community’s appreciation for the former chief of army staff’s remarkable contributions to the development of the area,  the state and the nation.
