Gombe Governor Mourns, As District Head Of Kuri Dies At 84

Gombe State Governor,  Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya CON has received with sadness the  passing of Alhaji Badamasi Ahmadu, District Head of Kuri in Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area who died today at the age of 84.

A statement signed by the DG (Press Affairs) Government House Gombe, Ismaila Uba Misilli, dated Sunday September 17, 2023, said that Governor Inuwa noted that the late traditional leader had during his 23 years of service as the district head, made invaluable contributions to the peace and harmony within his domain and the entire state.

He said, “the leadership of the late Alhaji Badamasi was characterized by wisdom, compassion, and a genuine concern for the well-being of those under his care. He played a great role in our administration’s drive for peace and harmony within his district and beyond, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and lives of his community members.”

Governor Inuwa Yahaya therefore, called on those left behind by Alhaji Badamasi Ahmadu to honour his memory by sustaining his legacy of selfless service, peace, and community development.

In this time of mourning, Governor Inuwa Yahaya, on behalf of the government and people of Gombe State,  conveyed his deepest condolences to the Emir of Deba, HRH Alhaji Ahmad Usman Muhammad, the Deba Emirate Council, and, in particular, the Kuri community.

He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased traditional leader and reward his good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus.

Meanwhile,  a statement from Deba Emirate indicates that the funeral prayer for the late District Head has been scheduled to hold today by 4: PM at Kuri, Yamaltu Deba Local Government.
