International  Day: Gombe Governor Restates Commitment To Nurturing Youths’ Potentials To Build Sustainable Future

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to nurturing the immense potential of youths and fostering their capabilities to build a sustainable future.
 
In a message of goodwill to the entire youth population of Gombe State on the occasion of the 2023 International Youth Day, themed “Green Skills for Youth Towards a Sustainable World,” Governor Inuwa affirmed that this year’s theme deeply resonates with the Gombe Goes Green ( 3 G) initiative, a flagship project of his administration.
 
 
According to a statement signed by the Director-General (Press Affairs)
Government House Gombe, Ismaila Uba Misilli,  he emphasized that the 3G goes beyond being just a tree planting campaign; it represents a movement that underscores his administration’s dedication to environmental conservation and youth empowerment.
 
The governor highlighted the project’s objective of planting millions of trees, not only enhancing the greenery of the landscape but also affording thousands of young people the opportunity to cultivate invaluable green skills.
 
He explained that “through their direct involvement in nurturing these trees, our youths gain practical insights into environmental sustainability and conservation, aligning seamlessly with the essence of this year’s celebration”. 
 
The Governor proudly pointed out that the Gombe State Government has consistently demonstrated its unwavering commitment to empowering and developing the youth.
 
He said, “through diverse interventions, we have invested in education, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, and job creation, equipping our youths with the necessary tools to excel in an ever-evolving world. These initiatives align harmoniously with our broader aspiration of securing a sustainable future for our state and the entire nation.”
 
In extending his warmest greetings and unwavering support to the vibrant and dynamic youth population, Governor Inuwa Yahaya applauded their determination and creativity in catalyzing positive change in society.
 
 The Governor,  who is also the Chairman of Northern States Governors’ Forum, called on all stakeholders, including the private sector, civil society organizations, and educational institutions, to unite in providing support to the youth as they cultivate the green skills imperative for a sustainable world.
 
“Collectively, we can shape an environment where our young people are empowered to drive innovation, safeguard our natural resources, and construct a more radiant future for generations to come,” the Governor emphasized.
 
He made an earnest call on the youth as leaders of tomorrow to shun all negative acts, and channel their energy, talents, and passion toward constructive ventures that will contribute positively to their own lives and to the development of the society at large.
