Hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the All Progressive Party Congress presidential candidate Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President-Elect of Nigeria on Wednesday, 1st March, 2023, a lecturer at the Federal College of Education, Gombe, Mr. Aliakor Josephat Onyekaozuru (aka The Advocate of Human Solidarity and Social Justice) called on Ndigbo to shun all forms of actions that are capable of undermining the peace of the nation. In place of drums of war, Mr. Aliakor tasked them to thank and return friendship to Nigerians for supporting and trusting the Labour Party Mr. Peter Obi.

“It is wise for us as Ndigbo to stop every form of hate speech, casting of aspersions and vituperative against other ethnic nationalities and tribes in the nation.” The advocate opined. “Nigerians have shown love and trust that Peter Obi is a symbol of the New Nigeria. They have extended their hands of friendship to us. Let us avoid every form of ethnocentric arguments on social media. Let us appreciate all well meaning Nigerians who did not allow ethnic or religious sentiments to becloud their sense of judgment.”

He enjoined them to seize the opportunity to enlarge their coasts by building bridges across other ethnic groups in the nation rather than wear strange faces. “If this New Nigeria does not come through Peter Obi.” He added. “With time this seed that has been sown will germinate and prevail. Certain disappointments are always blessings. There is still light at the bottom of the tunnel.”
