In a bid to rebuild the place of worship for Christian students in Government Girls Secondary School (former W.T.C)., Zaria, the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Sabon Gari Chapter, Prof. ES Akuso appealed passionately to well-meaning individuals and groups to contribute financially towards the project. Prof Akuso presented the issue at the Grand Finale of 2022 CAN Mid-Year Week of Prayer in Samaru Zone which took place at the Chapel of Redemption, Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU), Zaria, Kaduna State on Sunday, 10th July 2022.

Explaining how the absence of a permanent place of worship has been affecting the students, he spoke of the need to assist the younger ones in their journey of faith.

“The Patron of F.C.S in Zaria and the leadership of F.C.S in G.G.S.S. Zaria informed us of the problem of the place of worship where over six hundred Christian students pray.” The Chairman intimated. “The chapel there was burnt in 2011 as a result of the post-election violence and since then, they have no permanent place to worship.  It was decided at the general house that we should immediately see how we can roof that Chapel. We appreciate all the Churches that have contributed but we appeal to groups and individuals to contribute to this course. This is not anybody’s Church and it is what the Church is all about – mission.”

“The place is already overtaken by weeds. We want to clear that place and put it in order for them. They are our children and we are supposed to contribute and provide a conducive place of worship for our children. It is our desire to roof the building. We want to see that this work commences this week. If you want to be part of this project you can pay into this account details- FCMB Bank account no- 5865880018. May God bless you.”
