Highly impressed by the construction and donation of an outpost to the Kaduna State Police Command, the Commissioner of Police, CP  Yekini A. Ayoku, psc(+), mni has described the donors, Nigerian Breweries PLC for the gesture.CP Ayoku expressed this, while commissioning the police outpost located in Kudenda on Tuesday May 31, 2022.

“I am highly elated to be in your midst today on this auspicious occasion of the commissioning of this new Police Outpost under Kakuri Police Divisional Headquarters, built by the Nigerian Breweries, a company that has been in existence in Kaduna State since 1963 and one of the largest industries in Nigeria in terms of capital investment.

“This donation, I must admit, is a clear manifestation of corporate social responsibility from a company that has the heart of giving back to the community and a worthy dividend of Community Policing strategy of the Inspector General of Police which he embarked upon to confront the security challenges facing the Nation,” he said.

He therefore, commended the company for its focus to partner with the Police in the protection of lives and property of Nigerians and aliens living in the state or coming into the state for any form of legal engagement.

“Let me at this juncture call on other companies and all well-meaning Nigerians in the State to emulate the Nigerian Breweries and complement the effort of government and security agencies in promoting peace and stability in the state.

“This, we all know, is a civic responsibility required of anyone living in this Country and in Kaduna State in particular, as enshrined in Section 24(e) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).” He pointed out.

Speaking further, he said that it his  fervent belief that this laudable gesture of the Nigerian Breweries and many others, who may adopt similar gesture from today onward, will go a long way in attenuating the challenges of Kidnapping, Armed Banditry, Armed Robbery, Cattle Rustling, Terrorism, Rape and other social vices and their negative impact on the socio-economic development of the state.

“This friendly gesture demonstrated by the Nigerian Breweries clearly shows the love it has for the community, the Police, Law/Order and support for the government at the Federal and State levels.

“However, I must inform members of Kudenda Community to note that this befitting edifice is built for you and not for the Police alone. You cannot, therefore, allow miscreants in whatever disguise from anywhere and for whatever reason to destroy this outpost or attack any Police Officer posted to work here along with any local security outfit. This, if allowed, will not only affect the Police but the entire community and the State at large.

“It is noteworthy to reiterate that security is everybody’s business and we can all partake in various capacities towards securing our communities.

“Some may provide office building just like the Nigerian Breweries; others could provide operational logistics and others, yet, could avail the Police with relevant and credible information all in an effort to ward off our communities from all aspects of criminalities.

“I must assure that our officers are highly dedicated to their duties and the Command is leaving no stone unturned towards equipping them to the best of its ability to discharge their duties undeterred.

“As we commission this Police Post today, I ask all Police Officers posted here to see this as an opportunity to make more sacrifices in the course of advancing a safer and more secure society, knowing fully well that, as Police Officers, we have no other business other than to remain committed and resilient to our duties being that of life and property protection, enforcement of order and maintenance of peace in the community among others.

“It is therefore my singular honour and privilege to, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Baba Alkali, psc(+), NPM, fdc, Officers and Men of Kaduna State Command, commission this Police Outpost today and handover same to the Divisional Police Officer. Again, I express my profound gratitude to the company and assure you of the maximum utilization of the infrastructure that now replaced the rented apartment being used for the outpost since 1997 to Police this community and the state at large,” he said.

The CP further assured  of the Command’s commitment to partner with all stakeholders in addressing the security issues in their domains.
