A frontline grassroots group, The Progressive Leadership has averred that for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to consolidate on the gains made by the Mai Mala Buni-led caretaker committee of the party, former Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Abdullahi Adamu is the right man for the job.
They expressed this in a statement signed by Coordinator, Honourable Ahmed Mohammed Zagi and its Secretary, Alhaji Musa Gidado and made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Monday February 28, 2022.
“As the National Convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) billed for March 26 draws nearer, it is important to beam the searchlight on a progressive minded grassroots politician with national acceptance.
“Senator Abdullahi Adamu is not only a calculative politician, but is one that has huge follower ship and is very well respected across the country,” he said.
They explained that with the successes recorded by the Governor of Yobe State, Buni, who has recorded so much gain, it would make no sense handing over the ruling party’s structure to someone who will use ego and inexperience in rubbishing such “monumental” achievements.
Progressive Leadership said that as governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Adamu’s records of massive success are still there for anyone who still doubts his foresight to go and check.
“He is not just an experienced politician, but one who wields much influence in the party.
“As a Senator, he was able to influence several bills that are today impacting positively on the electorate across the country,” he pointed out.
They said that in view of that, it behoves on all delegates from across the country to “Shine their eyes” and ensure only a chairman that can lead not just the party, but to country to greater progress as another electioneering year fast approaches.
