Global finance powerhouse, Polaris Bank has said that it is sponsoring the one-day Royal Golf Tournament at the Kaduna Golf Club 1921, to share in the historic celebration of the club’s 100th anniversary, as well as in consolidating on its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Group Head Brand and Mwarketing, Communications Polaris Bank, Nduneche Chimezie Ezuruke expressed this, while fielding questions from newsmen on the sidelines of the tee-off of the tournament on Saturday November 13, 2021.
“It is a CSR Value to support communities we do business. We relate with sports in communities all over the country. Kaduna is a historical mileage to us, after going to several clubs all over the country,” he said.
Ezuruke added that they are leveraging with people who understand how the sports and investments work.
“Everyone is excited, people are able to have fun, the excitement is overwhelming.
“We don’t create events, we partner people who do events that speak to our values,” he explained.
Earlier in an interview with sportswriters, Deputy Governor Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe said that they are happy to have the prestigious golf club which has clocked 100 years in the state.
“We are here because the golf club is celebrating 100 years and Polaris Bank is taking advantage to be here.
“We are showing solidarity to them and moral support,” she added.
The Deputy Governor said that golf is an interesting game and worth playing by all.
“It is a game of discipline, I think it is a game I would like to.play in future,” she disclosed.
In a seperate interview, the Vice Captain Kaduna Golf Club, Wing Commander Zachariah Williams (rtd) said that he is delighted that so many were there to celebrate with them.
Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Bamalli’s representative at the tee-off, Kabiru Mohammed said that the Emir is lauding Polaris Bank for bankrolling the tournament and Kaduna Golf Club for hosting.
“Golf is an interesting game and a game of honesty. When playing golf, your eyes must be on the ball, just like the game I am used to, Polo,” he said.
