North West Rolls Out First Quarter Stakeholders Meeting, U-17 Beach Volleyball

The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, North West Zone has informed that it has concluded arrangements to host its first quarter 2021 stakeholders meeting, as well as U-17 Beach Volleyball competition for boys and girls.

This was contained in a statement signed by the North West Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Abdullahi Idris, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday.

According to the statement, the beach volleyball competition which is sponsored by the President NIgeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod is expected to begin on Thursday and end on Saturday.

“I am pleased to inform you and the General Public that, necessary
arrangements has been concluded by the Zonal Sports Office of the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports and the President, Volleyball Federation for the conduct of the above programmes which details are presented below:
Ahmadu Bello Stadium – Kaduna
:4th-7th February, 2021, 09:00 am Daily,” it stated.

It explained that amongst other aims and objectives, the programmes are to serve as an avenue for the appraisal of year 2020 sports, facilities and related development at states and zonal level.

“Deliberations and voting of merit awards to state chief executives based on policies, programmes and performances on sports, facilities and related development for the year 2019 and 2020,” it added.

According to the statement, the stakeholders meeting will also discuss and deliberate on North-West states successful outing at the forthcoming 20th National Spots Festival (NSF) tagged
“Edo- 2020”.

“Presentation, deliberation and ratification of North-West Zonal
Sports Office Calendar of Sports and related activities for the year
2021.

“Kick off of North-West Zonal Sports Office Grassroots Championships with the Conducts of U-17 Beach Volleyball for Boys and Girls at Kaduna State Tagged “Kaduna 2021”.

“Discovery of talented athletes based on above for further grooming,” it further stated.

The zone added that the meeting will provide grounds for actual implementation of their collective responsibilities on grassroots sports and related development as enshrined in the rectified National Sports Industry Policy 2020.
