All roads lead to Kaduna in the first week of August 2024, as plans have been concluded for the North West U-15 Beach Volleyball Championship.
This was gathered from an invitation letter which was signed by the North West Zonal Coordinator, Federal Ministry of Sports Development, Ibanga Michael Bernadette, dated July 16, 2024, sighted by our correspondent in Kaduna on Thursday July 18.
According to the letter, the seven North West states of Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara are expected to participate, as their respective Directors of Sports have been effectively communicated.
Similarly informed about the championship, are all chairmen, state volleyball associations. 16/7/2024
The letter informed that the championship would hold in Kaduna from August 2 to 6, 2024.
The letter reads, “The North-West Zonal office Kaduna comprising Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States has finished every arrangement to host the U-15 Beach Volleyball Competition, Boys and Girls sponsored by the Zonal Representative in the Board of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engr. Musa Nimrod.
“The Zonal office is therefore, inviting all the states within the zone to participate”.
According to the letter, conditions for the competition include, “Athletes must be below 15 years of age. Players and their Coaches would be accommodated.
“Transport and food subsidy would be given to all States on arrival”.
It further informed that the competition is scheduled as follows:
a) Arrival: 2nd August, 2024
b) Screening: 3rd August, 2024 morning.
c) Competition Days: 3rd to 5th August, 2024
d) Departure: 6th August, 2024
“Your participation would greatly enhance the performance of your players for the upcoming National Youth Games which is one of the objectives of the competition,” it informed.
