The House of Representatives member representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency in Zamfara State, Hon Abdulmalik Zubairu Zanna has disbursed a total of ₦24.5 million to 614 tertiary students from Bungudu and Maru Local Government Areas.
Zanna represents Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Speaking during the disbursement exercise in Bungudu town, the federal lawmaker said the gesture was part of his interventions to support education.
Zanna represented by the Chairman of his Scholarship Committee, Malam Muhammad Adamu, said 614 beneficiaries were studying various courses in 19 different universities across the country.
He said the gesture was aimed at supporting students from less privileged families, “who are finding it difficult to pay their school fees.
“Today, we are disbursing the sum of N24.5 million as scholarship grants to 614 tertiary students.”
He further said the gesture was aimed at reducing the economic hardship, faced by the less privileged students and their families.
