SKAID Organised  Intensive Training To Build  Capacity Of Youth On  Skills, Trade

Poised to adding value to the economy of Southern Kaduna, a foundation, Southern Kaduna Aid Foundation (SKAID) has organised a two-month intensive training to build the capacity of youth on different skills and trade.
Launching the training on Monday at Zonzon in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, the Chairman Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Rear Admiral Fagason Bobai (rtd said the training was intended to prepare the trainees from the twelve local government areas of Southern Kaduna  to be self reliant.
Bobai, who said starter parks will be given to them at the end of the training, also charged them to pay deserving attention to the training to improve their economic status.
Earlier, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Mr Bello Bisalla said the training was part of a broader objective of the Foundation to empower indigens with requisite skills to provide services that are lacking in the region.
Bisalla added that it was also a deliberate strategy by the foundation to build the capacity of especially the youth to be able to add value to the economy of Southern Kaduna.
He enumerated areas of the training to include: Electrical and Electronics, Repair and Solar Installation and Set up, Welding and Fabrication, Beauty Care and Make up.
In a remark, the village head of Zonzon, Mr Alang Angulu Wakili described the initiative by the foundation as life torching and charged the youth to make the most of the opportunity and get themselves reliable sources of livelihood apart from contributing to the economy.
A cross section of the trainees including Andrew Sichet, Bathsheba Joseph Bityong and Peter Sabastine Zwahu   expressed gratitude to the foundation for the rare privilege and assured that the investment of the Foundation will not go in vain, God willing.
SKAID Trade and Skill Acquisition Training Programme aims to empower 50 youths from Southern Kaduna with marketable skills in four key areas:
1. Beauty and Makeup Care
2. Welding and Fabrication
3. Solar Installation and Setup
4. Electrical and Electronic Repairs
By addressing the pressing need for skill development, this program:
– Enhances employability and job prospects
– Fosters entrepreneurship and self-reliance
– Supports local economic growth and development
– Empowers youths to become self-sufficient and contribute positively to their communities
This initiative has the potential to create lasting impact and drive positive change in Southern Kaduna.
