A former Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Hon Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya has celebrated Eid-el Kabir with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), mainly women and children.
Magarya was the Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly between 2019 and 2023.
The former Speaker also donated cash and food items to the IDPs who are victims of armed bandits attacks.
The event held at Mother Cat Yard in Kaura Namoda town, Kaura Namoda Local Government area of Zamfara state.
The displaced persons are residents of Magarya Community, in Zurmi Local Government area, which is also home town of the former Speaker
Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya visited the victims at shortly after observing Eid prayer alongside the emir of Kaura Namoda, HRH. Sanusi Mohammed Asha.
Former Speaker Magarya Condoled and sympathize with the people over what he described as the work of enemies of peace and progress.
Sympathising with the victims Magarya urge them to remain steadfast in prayers and always seek for Allah’s intervene in the security situation in Zamfara state anf other parts of the country.
Magarya lamented that people of his community experienced several of attacks which had led to many death death, destruction of properties worth millions of naira.
During the visit the former Zamfara Assembly Speaker donated cash and other items to the displaced persons to make them feel happy during Sallah celebrations.
Magarya said: “Activities of Armed bandits has affected our people badly, many died and countless lost their valuables”.
He called on Government at all levels and security agencies to work hard and end the banditry activities claiming innocent lives on a daily basis, as well as rendering many innocent persons homeless.
“Our People are mainly farmers but could not go to their farms due to the fear of bandits”.
“My purpose of visiting you is to encourage you to be patience and consider this situation as test from Almighty Allah
” I am so happy today, I feel fulfilled, eating and drinking with you here on a Special day of Sallah” Margarya added.
He pray to God for the repose of the soul of those that died in the attacks and express optimism that the heinous act will soon be a thing of the past.
