The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kaduna State Chapter, has lauded Governor Uba Sani for appointing Mrs. Gloria Ibrahim as the new Commissioner for Youth Development.
The council described the move as a strategic step toward restoring purposeful youth engagement in the state.
The Chairman of NYCN Kaduna, Comrade Umar Abubakar, In a statement on Thursday, May 23, 2025, expressed appreciation to the Governor for what it termed a “bold and inclusive leadership decision” that demonstrated his continued commitment to youth empowerment and good governance.
“For more than half a decade, youth development activities in Kaduna State lacked clear direction.
“The appointment of Mrs. Gloria Ibrahim brings renewed hope for meaningful progress and the reawakening of youth-focused policies and programs,” the statement read in part.
The Council further noted that Mrs. Ibrahim’s vast experience, leadership qualities, and passion for youth advancement make her a strong fit for the ministry, and expressed confidence in her ability to reposition the sector.
“This appointment is a turning point. We are optimistic that Mrs. Ibrahim will introduce strategic initiatives that will empower young people, promote innovation, and create sustainable opportunities across the state”, he added.
The Council also assured the Kaduna State Government of its full cooperation and support in advancing youth development under the new leadership.
