The Zonal Director of National Orientation Agency (NOA), North West, Alhaji Hamisu Abubakar Miyere has called on staff of the agency to ensure discipline and punctuality as well as other guidelines.
Miyere made the call when he paid a working visit to Zamfara State Directorate Office of the agency.
He said the purpose of the Zonal Director’s visit was to interact with the staff of the agency in the state.
He said the visit also was to discuss problems, prospects and challenges of the agency’s operation in the state.
“I am here also to deliver the messages of the Director General, Mallam Lanre Isa-Onilu as part of his effort to enhance performance and output of the agency,” he said.
The Zonal Director called on staff to embrace good conduct and punctuality, adding that the agency would not tolerate indiscipline, absenteeism and low performance.
“We have to work very hard to ensure we achieve optimal performance in the agency”, he explained.
Miyere also charged Community Orientation and Mobilization Officers (COMO) of the agency on good report writing.
He urged them to always avoid writing second hand information to ensure accuracy, timelines, analytical and updates.
Also speaking, the State Director of the agency, Aminu Ibrahim described the visit as a welcome development.
Ibrahim said the agency has been receiving high level cooperation from stakeholders in the state including the state government, media outfits, traditional religious leaders, NGOs, women and youths groups.
“On behalf of the entire staff of the agency in Zamfara directorate, we appreciate this visit.
“This visit served as an encouragement to guide the operations of the agency in the state,” Ibrahim said.
The State Director, described shortage of man power as one of the major challenges of the agency.
The Chairman, COMO, Malam Aminu Mukhtar assured of his members preparedness to ensure the agency achieves its goals in the state.
Mukhtar promised to carry all staff along to work as a team.
The Zonal Director also visited the palace of Senior District Head of Gusau Emirate, Bashir Kabir Danbaba.
During the visit, Danbaba said the traditional rulers in the state have good understanding and long relationship with the NOA.
The traditional ruler pledged to continue supporting NOA activities in the state to achieve its mandate.
