*Commissioner expressed state’s readiness

There was excitement in the air as preparations gear up for the 2025 National Sports Festival (NSF), with Kaduna State becoming the latest destination for the symbolic Unity Torch, a key highlight of the festival’s nationwide tour.
Kaduna State Commissioner for Sports Development, Professor Benjamin Gugong, expressed the state’s readiness to participate actively in the upcoming games.
The Unity Torch of the 2025 National Sports Festival arrived in Kaduna State, bearing a message of peace, unity, and national pride.
During a brief ceremony, the Commissioner for Sports reaffirmed Kaduna’s commitment to the festival, scheduled to hold from May 16 to 30.
He described the event as not just as a celebration of athletic excellence, but as a platform to foster national cohesion.
The arrival of the torch aligns with a presidential directive issued in March, when President Bola Tinubu mandated the National Sports Commission to tour all 36 states with the Unity Torch, a move aimed at reinforcing the unifying power of sports across the country.
Next, the torch will continue its symbolic journey to the southern region, igniting excitement and anticipation as the countdown to the festival continues.
