Gov Buni Receives Unity Touch For National Sports Festival

The Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, received the Unity Touch for the National Sports Festival (NSF) at the Government House in Damaturu symbolizing national unity through sports, on Friday.

The event, represented by Deputy Governor Idi Gubana, highlights the power of sports to bring people together, transcending differences in gender, race, ethnicity and religion.

Governor Buni emphasized that “Sports uniquely unite Nigerians towards a common goal.
The state government will support the state athletes participating in the national sports festival in Abeokuta, Ogun State, 2025, he said.

The Governor called on athletes to pray for the state, country and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, seeking wisdom, strength and unity.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Barma Shettima, highlighted the state’s success in hosting the Northeast Zonal Elimination Sports Games, where Team Yobe State excelled and will represent the region in multiple sports events at the national festival.

The festival, scheduled for May 16-25, 2025, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, aims to promote unity and sports development nationwide. The Unity Touch, presented by the National Sports Commission, will be taken to states across the country to foster participation and engagement.
