NEMA Donates Relief Items To Victims Of Flood, Banditry Activities In Sokoto South Senatorial District

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in collaboration with Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has distributed relief assistance to victims of flood disaster and banditry activities in Sokoto South Senatorial Zone

The Director General NEMA, Dr Zubaida Umarwhile speaking at the distribution exercise in Shagari town, Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto State said the assistance aimed to reduce the suffering of the affected communities caused by the disaster.

The DG represented at the occasion by the Head of NEMA Sokoto Operations Office, Aliyu Kafindangi said the gesture is the FG’s response to the plight of the affected communities.

The DG further said that the relief items comprised food and non food items, Rice, Maize, Maggi, Tomato paste, Iodized Salt, toiletries bedding materials among others.

According to her, hundreds of beneficiaries from across the Seven LGAs of Sokoto South Senatorial Zone received the Federal Government gesture.

“This gesture is part of the Federal Government’s response to the victims of flood disaster and unfortunate banditry activities,” the NEMA DG added.

Senator Tambuwal in his remarks thanked the Federal Government for the relief assistance to the people of his constituency.

“I appreciate the concern and commitment of the Director General NEMA, Dr Zubaida Umar for the quick intervention to our people who were affected by flood and banditry activities.

Tambuwal assured that the items must be shared to the affected persons across his constituency.
