Arewa Child Protection Foundation in collaboration with Angel on Board Houston, Texas America has donated books and writing materials to some schools in Kaduna State.
The Chairman of the foundation, Comrade Monday Makoga, presented the books and writing materials to 2,000 students of 20 different schools at Nassarawa in Chikun and Kaduna South local government areas.
The chairman who was represented by his deputy, Pastor Paul Aluya said the aim is to improve and support students at the grassroots level as part of efforts to develop the educational sector in Nigeria.
He recalled that similar distribution took place at Hayin Danmani under Igabi Local Government Area, where the foundation selected many schools to benefit from such support.
“This initiative is a good example of community support for education, by providing essential resources, Arewa Child Protection Foundation and Angel On Board Houston, Texas, America are helping shape the future of Nigeria’s youth,” he said.
In his address, the Guest Speaker during the occasion from Kaduna State University, Professor John Gambola Laah, commended the foundation and Angel On Board Houston Texas America for supporting students with books and writing materials, saying that no nation develops without giving quality education priority.
He also appealed to other stakeholders, particularly civil society organizations to emphasize the need for quality education just like in developed countries.
The Secretary of Arewa Child Protection Foundation, Malam Hamisu Ibrahim announced that the foundation is expected to cover the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State to distribute same books and writing materials.
In an interview with some of the beneficiaries, Favour Samson and Godwin Nicolas speaking seperately, promised to utilize the books and writing materials to improve their studies.
