Engineer Barth Nwibe, a chieftain of the Labour Party (LP) has congratulated the new National Caretaker Committee (CTC) of the party, led by Mrs Nenadi Usman.
It would recalled that the expanded stakeholders of Labour Party in Umuahia on August 4, set up a 29-member interim Caretaker Committee, led by Usman and Darlington Nwokocha as chairman and Secretary to manage the party, following the expiration of the tenure of Mr Julius Abure.
Nwibe in his congratulatory message on Saturday, commended Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Governor Alex Otti of Abia and other stakeholders for their efforts to save the party from the crisis facing it.
The frontline governorship aspirant in Anambra, said that the choice of Nenadi Usman to manage the transition of the party was well informed, expressing hope that it would position LP for electoral victory in future elections.
He described the Caretaker Committee Chairman as great mother who has the experience and capacity to galvanise all Labour Party faithful towards a fruitful election.
According to Nwibe, “sequel to the stakeholders meeting held at Umuahia, all committed members of our great party are once again proud and optimistic of the future.
“This will go a long way to show and prove that anything placed on nothing cannot be expected to stand.
“To single out Senator Nenadi Usman to lead this caretaker committee has shown that the Labour Party will be a party to beat in the next election (in fact what a man can do, a woman can do better).
“I congratulate our leaders, the host Dr. Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia State and all the national and state assembly members led by Sen. Victor Umeh as well as our candidates in the last national and state elections.
“We shall never labour in vain,” he said.
