The Kajuru Elders’ Forum is appealing to the Gbagyi community in Chikun Local Government Area for their support in the upcoming election for the House of Representatives seat.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Elder Maxwell Musa said that the elders are asking the Gbagyi people to back Hon. Esther Ashivelli Dawaki, a philanthropist from Kajuru, for the position.
The elders emphasize that the Gbagyi community, represented by Rt. Hon. Umar Yakubu Barde, has held the Chikun/Kajuru Federal House of Representatives seat for the past 20 years.
They argued that it is only fair for the seat to now move to the Kajuru constituency, to ensure this transition, discussions and agreements are being made to support Hon. Dawaki’s candidature.
The elders expressed hope that the Gbagyi people will recognize the importance of equitable representation and lend their support to this new candidate from Kajuru.
