As the struggle to control the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) intensifies ahead of the 2027 general elections, faction loyal to the 2023 presidential elections candidate of the party, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has said that those that dumped the party for the main opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna on Sunday, are no longer members of the party, but we’re already expelled.

This was contained in a statement signed by the factional Kaduna State Chairman, Muhammad Lawal Sultan, made available to our correspondent on Tuesday July 23, 2024.

“Those mentioned are not members of our dear party anymore, they are expelled from us and for now are not with us, and in fact, they are working against the party and it’s too late for them, they will reap their shameless,” the statement said.

In the statement titled, “REGARD WHAT PUBLISHED BY NEW NIGERIA NEWSPAPER AS TOTAL LIED AND FALLACY” the faction insisted, “No single party member that decamped to any political party in Kaduna State.”

It explained that in addition to that, “Nobody intends to do so, but rather, we are working tirelessly to move the party forward as many have already joined the party and thousands are on their way coming to us, it’s just a fallacy and politically motivated propaganda, due to the fact that NNPP in Kaduna is gradually progressing in the state and Nigeria at large”.

The statement further warned the decampees, “to go and look their political mate as we and our party leader His excellency Sir distinguish sen Rabiu Musa kwankwaso went far ahead of them and to reach him never.”

It therefore, called on its party members and supporters to remain calm, law abiding citizens and to go ignore what it termed, “this negative rumour and wake up to work for the success of our party to win for general election 2027in kaduna and Nigeria at large, so that NNPP will terminate insecurity, poverty and many hardships ravaging the country.”
