Youth Support Political Development in Nigeria (YSPDN) has commended the leadership of the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for assigning youth of Nigeria into key positions of service for the progressive development of the country.
The President of YSPDN, Aliyu Idris gave the commendation in a statement made available to journalists on June 8, 2024.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29, in his inaugural speech, pledged among many things, to carry women and 30% youth along in his administration, saying that youths would feature prominently.
“ The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is keeping its promise of appointing capable youths in the governance, and this will bring tremendous change for the country,.
“There is no doubt, the appointment of the youths into the key positions of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will yield the best result for the country.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu promised to create meaningful opportunities for Nigerian youths and to provide jobs in the digital economy,” Comrade Aliyu stated.
It added that, “As an organization that promotes youth political governance in regards to the ‘NOT TOO YOUNG TO RUN’ law, we are living witness of the mandate of this administration in providing good opportunities for the youths of Nigeria.
“ In his cabinet, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo who was born on May 1, 1982, as the Minister of Interior. Hannatu Musawa as Special Adviser on Culture and Entertainment Economy, Joseph Utsev of 43 years appointed as the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation.
“Youth are also appointed as the president’s advisers, among them are Olu Verheijen, 46, Zacchaeus Adedeji, 45, and John Uwajumogu, 46,” the statement said.
It added, “Meanwhile, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointment of Dr. Agada Augustine to lead the Council Board of Kaduna Polytechnic is part of the President mandate on giving Nigerian youths 30% opportunities in his administration.
“Dr. Agada who has been in politics for many years, deserves the appointment as the Council Chairman of Kaduna Polytechnic Board for his political and educational contributions since at a very younger age.
“Dr. Agada aspired for Benue governorship seat in 2011 under the ACN flag, won Local Government Chairmanship seat in 2021 under APC for his momentous supporters and strategic politics.
“Dr. Agada’s political tactics helped APC reclaim victory at the presidential level and his commitment in the APC party won him the APC state chairmanship of Benue State,” the YSPDN President said.
The YSDF thanked the President for selecting competent youth to serve the country in his cabinet and commended him for appointing Dr. Agada to chair Kaduna Polytechnic council.
The organization called on the young appointees of the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to continue exhibiting good qualities as ambassadors of Renewed Hope agenda of the government and to help the Government succeed.
