An amalgamation of 596 affiliated registered community based, socio cultural and economic inclined grassroot associations of Northerners from Nineteen Northern States and associations of Northerners Resident in Seventeen Southern States and FCT, Nineteen Seventeen Northern Consensus Movement For Peace Unity Empowerment and Development initiative (NSNCM) has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s achievements in defending Nigeria in his first 365 days in office.
This was expressed in a statement signed by National president NSNCM, Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday June 4, 2024.
“Defence is not a “Magic Wand” affair where a wave from a Fairy Godmother turns bad into good and ashes into gold.
“Nigeria, a sovereign country, is blessed with land, sea, and air boundaries, and this means defence is a serious, tactical, and coordinated affair that needs more of silent action than rhetorics or showmanship.
“However, our Fairy Godfather in the person of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in his 365 days in office has provided the magic wand to the Ministry of Defense and this was put in good use by the Defense Minister Badaru Abubakar,
Permanent Secretary Dr. Kana and the CDS General CG Musa have found a worthy working pertiner,” it said.
According to the coalition, in a statement titled, ‘SCORE CARD OF PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU AND HIS DEFENCE TEAM’ ”We have seen the efficacy of the wand in the following:
1, Enhanced collaboration and synergy within the Armed Forces of Nigeria(AFN), other security agencies, and Paramilitary outfits like never seen before, and it is yielding results.
2, Capacity building, Recalibration and improved welfare for the AFN…and it is yielding results.
3, Collaboration/Partnership with neighbouring countries and also with friendly nations and organizations has improved tremendously, and it is yielding results.
4, The Armed forces of Nigeria have become more outwardly professional towards its engagement in defence and security, encompassing restraint and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and Rules of Engagement within the ethics of their profession”.
The statement explained that this can be seen in the recent successes in curbing of insurgencies and capturing of insurgents in collaboration with the Armed Forces of the Republics of Niger, Chad, and Cameroon and it is yielding results.
“The successes in the Maritime areas cannot be ignored. While containing the menace of oil bunkering and its affiliated vices, security has been beefed up with a few or no incidences of piracy along our National/International coastline.
“Internal security and success rates have yielded the successful release of kidnapped victims with additional “Marching Order” by the president in going after and fishing our perpetrators.
“Safe passage in many highways have been achieved, these including some major useful highways in the North East and the Kaduna-Abuja corridor, both highway and railway,” the statement said.
It pointed out that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, through the Ministry of Defense, has seen a boost in the improvement and upgrade of arsenal and equipment in the Army, Navy, and Air Force and it’s yielding results.
“The magic wand has also played a part in the enhancement, integration, and trust of the civil stakeholders.
“This has improved intelligence gathering and confidence building in the “If you see something, Say something” with confidentiality and adequate witness protection…it is also yielding results.
“The Fairy Godfather in the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his Renewed Hope Agenda, which is meticulously implemented by the Ministry of Defense through the Honorable Minister Badaru Abubakar, Minister of State Matawalle and the CDS General Christopher Musa has gone through silent achievements and successes,” it said.
The coalition said that the trio of DHQ under the CDS, General Musa and all Service Chiefs (Land Army, Air Force and Navy).have found a coefficient of restitution on the way forward in the defence of our Sovereign Nation and it is yielding the expected result.
“Defence is a dynamic process and needs all meaningful citizen to contribute their positive quota for our collective success and comfort. which, in return, will give us successes in other endeavours.
“While we appreciate the challenges therein, we are positively believing in the President, his Strategic Defence team and the successes ahead as he continues with the great work in his second year of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
