The Arewa Youth Forum (AYF), has criticised the BBC documentary against the late Senior Prophet of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Temitope Balogun Joshua as an unnecessary distraction.
This was expressed in a statement signed by AYF’s National President,  Ahmed Mohammed Zagi, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Wednesday, which said that TB Joshua made a mark while alive and his legacies will forever remain in the good books of history.
“The Arewa Youth Forum (AYF), which is the umbrella body of youth organizations of Northern extraction in Nigeria and diaspora, wish we to use this medium to react to a report made by BBC, alleging that the late Senior Prophet of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Temitope Balogun Joshua, (TB Joshua) harassed some members of his church and faked miracles.
“The AYF, wishes to put its supportive weight behind various well-wishers in Nigeria and abroad to state that the late sage, TB Joshua,  within the period he spent on earth, touched many lives within the length and breadth of the country irrespective of religion or tribal affiliation, as well as   built  a legacy which made him a blessing not only to the church he served diligently, but to the Christian faith and Nigeria,” the group said.
The statement  pointed out that available records have it that the SCOAN under the able leadership of the late Prophet and out of his genuine benevolence, empowered so many lives, reconciled many broken homes, foot medical bills of so many and so on.
“This is therefore, a colossal and beautiful legacy that should not be destroyed but rather, appreciated and nurtured.
“As we are calling for calm and decorum on the ongoing issue, the BBC would not have lost anything if it had gone to the church even to disguise as visitors to have direct experience of what was happening in the church instead of relying on sketchy information from disgruntled and manipulated individuals some of whom were never known before in SCOAN.
‘Therefore, the news going round at this moment is baseless, especially where it is being targeted at a deceased person.
“The man of God as we all know, has left a legacy of service and sacrifice to God’s Kingdom that will live for generations yet unborn.”
