*Warn Presidency against influencing Kano, Zamfara, Plateau Guber judgment at Supreme Court
*Insists youth mobilizing to ensure masses friendly leaders emerge in 2027

While lamenting the hardship Nigerians endured in the better part of 2023, a frontline group, National Youth Alliance (NYA), has advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, state governors, national and state assemblies to ensure citizens get a better deal in 2024.
NYA expressed this in a statement signed by its National President, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, made available on December 31, 2023.
The group recalled that from the inaugural speech of the president on May 29, it was clear that the interests of majority of Nigerians was not the priority of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government.
“It was a dark day for the common Nigerian on May 29, as the newly sworn-in president announced removal of fuel subsidy, which is one of the only benefits being enjoyed by the masses from the government.
“The resultant effect of the subsidy removal is being felt by all Nigerians, mostly the masses, with skyrocketing inflation rocking commodities, transportation, education and even basic services.
“This was a rude shock as Nigerians expected a better deal from a democratically elected government,” NYA said.
The group warned that with this development, youth who are mainly affected, are strategizing and thinking outside the box to ensure they don’t get another insensitive leader in 2027.
They warned that the present crop of leaders would be shown the way out in 2027 as they have started mobilizing in ensuring that a leader who has sympathy with the masses emerges in 2027.
They also warned the presidency against influencing Supreme Court judgment in gubernatorial elections, citing cases of Kano, Zamfara and Plateau as examples.
They used the opportunity to wish Nigerians a Happy New Year, while saying that all hope is not lost.
