President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) and an undisputed pillar of sports in Nigeria, Engineer Musa Nimrod is optimistic that sports will thrive under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the country.
He expressed this, while fielding questions from newsnen on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the Second Phase Beach Soccer League at the Murtala Mohammed Square, Kaduna on Monday.
He said that as an experienced politician who always gets the best hands on deck, Tinubu would appoint a minister that knows much about sports and has a passion for developing the sector.
Nimrod, who is also the Chairman of Kaduna Beach Soccer Association, said that all that is needed, is the support of all Nigerians, especially sportsmen and women to give Tinubu the needed support in taking sports to greater heights.
On the beach soccer league, he expressed disappointment with the performance of Kaduna’s team.
He however, assured that before the third and final phase of the league, Kaduna will take measures towards improving, to defend and retain the title or won last year.
Meanwhile, he commiserated with the management and staff, family and Nigerians over the shocking demise of founder of DAAR Communications, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi.
He prayed for God to grant the fortitude to bear the loss.
