The Administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Zaria, Very Rev Fr Michael Kagarko rained praises on the faithful for their comportment during the elections of Saturday, 25th February, 2023. He conveyed the message in a letter addressed to the clergy and faithful of the diocese on 3rd March 2023.

The clergyman also acknowledged how displeased they were with the manner in which the results were declared but nudged them to keep doing their part by turning out in large number to complete what they started.

“I appreciate your maturity at the presidential polls.” The administrator commended. “I wish to laud and thank you for the massive turn out on the 25th of February, 2023 during the presidential election. You all have proven your strong will and desire for a better Nigeria and the energy and zeal was undeniably felt. I am fully aware of the fact that many of you are disappointed looking at the questionable process of delivery that obviously does not tally with the content of the electoral act in use. That notwithstanding, I praise your maturity in resisting this backdrop with bravery, calm, and serenity.”

“I call upon you all to be resilient and hopeful as we await the judgment of the court over the allegations by the aggrieved party members and their loyalists. I want to warmly and strongly with a loud voice call on one and all to finish the process of realizing our dream for a new Nigeria by voting out politicians who have proven to be indifferent and insensitive to the plight of poor masses particularly in Kaduna State.  I request same show of steadfastness and boldness as you come out en masse at the forthcoming gubernatorial elections next Saturday, 11th March, 2023.”

Fr Kagarko charged them to vote people who mean well and appear promising into power so that they can recover from years of huge loss, pain and misery.
