Campaign Council of Hon. Usman Ibrahim known as Sardaunan Badarawa has cautioned Lawal Adamu, popularly called Mr. LA to refrain from taking People’s Democratic Party (PDP), internal matter to third parties.

This is just as Sardaunan Badarawa’s Camp insists that their principal remains the authentic PDP Kaduna Central Candidate for the forthcoming 2023 general election.

In a press statement signed by Director General of Sardaunan Badarawa Campaign Council Ayuba Ragas, Mr. LA was lambasted for seeking the intervention of Kaduna State Commissioner of Police on a matter before the Supreme court.

Ragas described the action of Mr. LA as desperation of the proverbial sinking man who would grab anything, including a shrub on his way down the bottom.

He wondered why the politician would resort to reporting a matter that had been resolved by the party which reserved the right to send names of its candidates after primary election to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Ragas, explaining further, said “the name of Sardaunan Badarawa is still the name which has just been published few hours ago by INEC as PDP’s Kaduna Central authentic Candidate for 2023 general election in compliance with the Electoral Acts.

“The updated list also showed that the PDP has Ibrahim Usman as its senatorial candidate for Kaduna Central due to a court order.

“Secondly certificate of return issued by the party as its flag bearer is still with Sardaunan Badarawa and Mr. LA has not been issued with any as far as we know.

“Thirdly, the Appeal Court’s ruling Mr. LA is using as a reason to parade himself as a candidate too did not in any specific term say he ( Mr. LA) should be the party’s flag bearer.

“He was rather advised to go back to the party which has the exclusive right to decide through internal democratic mechanism, (such as a primary election or a consensus) whom their candidates are.

“In this case, primary election had been conducted as ordered by a High court of competent jurisdiction which was won by Sardaunan Badarawa, whose name has long been forwarded to INEC.

“If I were Mr. LA, instead of reporting an internal party matter to the Police Commissioner with the intend of dragging the seasoned and professional law enforcement officer into a partisan political affair, I would have waited for the verdict of the Supreme Court which is the final arbiter in this case.

“I believe he is jittery already, being aware that the litigation before the Supreme court will not go in his favour, thus he resorted to this desperate measure that is capable of causing chaos and disaffection for the party he claims he loves,” he added.

The statement further cautioned Mr. LA against taking a step that could be prejudicial and capable of creating disaffection amongst the PDP family in Kaduna Central Senatorial District and the state in general.

“All should be our preoccupation now is to float a robust campaign machine capable of wrestling power from the ruling party in fulfilment of the yearnings of our constituents who have put their weight behind the candidature and aspiration of Hon. Usman Ibrahim, an astute and grassroots politician with interest of the masses at heart.

“We call on Mr. LA to put the interest of the PDP above personal ego and advantage so our great party wouldn’t be distracted as we face another important election cycle,” he advised.
