*Emir Dadum Hamza, community leaders, stakeholders praise Gombe Governor’s visionary policies, developmental drive

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has been commended for churning out sound policies, programmes and projects that have direct bearing geared on the life of a common man.
A statement signed by the Director-General (Press Affairs) Government House Gombe, Ismaila Uba Misilli, dated Wednesday January 4, 2023, said, this is even as the Governor’s reelection bid received an overwhelming boost with support of community leaders and critical stakeholders.
The commendation was made by the Emir of Nafada, His Royal Highness, Muhammad Dadum Hamza as Gombe APC campaign team paid him a courtesy call at his palace in Nafada.
The Emir expressed delight over the visit, describing it as historic and home-coming.
He applauded the governor’s concern over the plights of the people of Nafada, commending his resolve to tackle famer-herder conflict in the state by restricting herders movement into the state and across local government boundaries.
“Governor Inuwa loves Nafada more than the people of Nafada themselves, this is buttressed by his commitment towards ensuring security of lives and property of people and numerous development projects executed in the emirate”.
The emir applauded the visionary policies of governor Inuwa especially in the areas of security, education, health, agriculture and industrialization.
The Royal father specifically thanked the governor for the renovation of primary and secondary schools, appointment of teachers, conversion of College of Legal and Islamic Studies Nafada to
College of Education and Legal Studies, supporting agriculture, especially dry season farming, among others.
He assured the governor of his support and that of his people towards the success of the second term bid, adding that the essence of leadership is to bring peace and development to the people.
In his remarks at the palace, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya thanked the people of Nafada for the warm reception accorded him and his team, which he described as “sheer affection in display”.
The governor who is Wakilin Ilimin Nafada said they were at the palace to seek for blessings, support and prayers of the royal father for the success of their campaign journey in the emirate.
He intimated the emir that the wisdom behind visiting all the 114 wards of the state is beyond campaigning; “it is a way of getting in touch with the people at the grassroots and hearing from them the most pressing needs of their communities with the view to solving them”.
Inuwa recounted the sterling achievements of his government , which he said are very much visible in all nooks and crannies of the state, maintaining that his administration’s performance is unmatchable as he fulfilled most of the campaign promises made in 2019.
Governor Inuwa expressed concern over the bad condition of access roads in the LGA which inflicts hardships to the people of different communities in the area, especially during rainy season.
He explained some of the measures taken towards solving the accessibility problem in the LGA. “we are looking at possibility of building bigger and more efficient bridges on Nafada access road; we are equally going to build water diversion channels to protect the road from overflow and erosion threats capable of isolating the people of the area especially during rainy season”.
Governor Inuwa said he recently visited the minister of works to register his concerns over the bad condition of Gombe-Postiskum road as well as others which are being rehabilitated. “We drew the attention of the Federal Ministry of Works on the bad condition of the road along Nafada Axis and pleaded with them to start the rehabilitation work from there to provide succor to the people and the Minister promised do the needful”.
He assured that his administration will not forsake the region in the provision of amenities and dividends of democracy, calling on the people especially youths to shun violence and embrace peace for progress and development of their respective communities.
Ealier speaking at Jigawa and Gudukku Wards, Governor Inuwa promised to end the age-long road problem of the area. “The problem of Jigawa and Gudukku roads will soon be history; we will construct road linking Jigawa with spur to Gudukku”, he promised.
At all the wards visited, the governor charged the people to ensure collecting their permanent voters cards and voting for APC candidates at all levels for more dividends of democracy, especially good road network to open up the agrarian communities in Nafada LGA and beyond.
Earlier in his address of welcome, the APC Chairman Nafada LGA, Adamu Abdullahi Massad extolled the governor for executing Developmental projects in the LGA, citing the historic
Gadar Bapparu; a bridge linking Nafada with Funakaye and Dukku LGAs; Securing accreditation and TETFund intervention as well as approval of permanent site for College of Education and Legal Studies Nafada; building of schools and renovation of many classes and structures as well as revitalisation of at least one Healthcare centre in each of the eleven wards of the LGA among others.
He said Nafada people are solidly behind governor Inuwa’s reelection bid and are ready to deliver the LGA for the APC at all levels for more development.
In their separate remarks, the Director General of the Campaign Council, Barrister Zubair Muhammad Umar and the Gombe State Coordinator of Tinubu/Shettima campaign organisation, Dr Jamilu Ishiyaku Gwamna said APC stands for progress and therefore a vote for APC is a vote for development and prosperity, appealing for the people to vote for all the party’s flag bearers from top to bottom for a purposeful leadership that will take the state and country to greater heights.
Those who drummed support for governor Inuwa Yahaya and all the APC candidates at the respective venues of the campaign rallies include: Senator Sa’idu Alkali, Hon. Aishatu Jibrin Dukku, Candidates for State Assemblies among other party stalwarts.
The campaign team visited Jigawan Nafada, Gudukku, Nafada East, Nafada Central, Nafada West, Barwo Winde, Barwo Nasarawo, Birin Fulani East, Birin Fulani West, Birin Bolawa Wards in Nafada Emirate and Wawa-Wakaltu Ward in Funakaye Emirate amidst mammoth crowd of supporters.
In each of the 12 wards visited, hundreds of defectors were formally received into the APC, including State House of Assembly Candidate of the NNPP for Funakaye North, former Gombe State Head of Service among other party executives from opposition parties.
