The Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority ( KADCHMA) has announced its readiness to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Management of Kaduna Line to integrate Drivers working the Transport Company into health insurance cover.
The Director General of KADCHMA Abubakar Hassan disclosed this on Wednesday while speaking to the media in Kaduna.
According to the Director General of KADCHMA, the insurance cover would ensure that drivers working with Kaduna Line were integrated into the scheme to enable them and their families properly access healthcare as they go about their duty.
He added that his Agency is working on Governor Nasiru El -Rufai mandate of leaving no one in the. State behind in the health insurance scheme.
Hon. Abubakar explained that the Job of the drivers who fly Intra and interstate routes comes with some hazards and having insurance coverage gives assurance to them to go about their duty confidently.
” This MOU is coming after bilateral talks between the two agencies and the positive result is an assurance for the drivers that their health care and that of their families are covered whether they are around or not ‘ he said
KADCHMA DG also said that the understanding should be a wake-up call for all other transport unions to key into the health insurance scheme in the state
In his remark, the Managing Director of Kaduna Line Augustine Ogah said the MoU is in line with the Kaduna line cardinal rule of ensuring that drivers and their families have rest of mind and Will concentrate on the wheels.
Ogarh added that the development would address the financial burden of the drivers in terms of health, he said
