Unnecessary comparison has been condemned by a former Chairman of Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria, (CCRN), of the Catholic Diocese of Zaria, Evang Adams Dauda who gave the word of exhortation at the send forth held in honour of retired Professor of Pharmacy, Prof (Mrs.) Suzanne Allagh on Sunday, June 12th 2022.
At the event which took place at the celebrant’s resident in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Evang Dauda said that one of the most difficult things is to thank God because many people compare themselves with other people and their heights in life without thanking Him for the blessings that He has bestowed on them.

“Most of us don’t thank God.” He lamented. “Instead of appreciating God for what He has done we complain. You don’t compare yourself with somebody who has achieved more than you when you are thanking God. There are different levels of achievements in life. So, don’t say, ‘I’m not a professor, so I will not thank God’. No, you have to thank God for the fact that you are alive. You have every cause to thank God. God works in diverse ways.”
“We are not the same even in the gifting of God. We have word of knowledge; word of wisdom; discernment of spirit; and the rest. It is our prayer that as a result of this thanksgiving, we will keep appreciating God for what He does for us. All what you have achieved in life is by the special grace of God. You appreciate God according to levels. If get to 100 level, you appreciate Him, when you get to 200 level, you appreciate Him; when you graduate, you appreciate Him. That is how you will keep appreciating Him. Your tank will be full when you know how to appreciate Him. God keeps doing things in our lives. So, let’s keep thanking Him.”

Explaining that the CCRN is a smaller cell within the Church and a place of fellowship where members are meant to relate and understand themselves better, the anchor thanked Prof Allagh for supporting in the fellowship, praying God to direct and protect her in her new stage of life for trusting Him and promoting His Kingdom. He then called on members to emulate the retiree’s commitment to the things of God.
