The Nigeria Ports Authority, (NPA) has remitted about N75 billion to the coffers of the Federal Government in the past six months, and it is expected to remit more as the year rounds up
The Acting Managing Director of NPA,Muhammed Bello Koko, made this assertion in a chat with Journalists after budget defence on Thursday at the National Assembly in Abuja.
Alhaji Koko also revealed that the NPA got over 95 percent of funds allocated to it and that the Authourity made judicious use of the funds, adding that he is expecting that the funds meant for the NPA would increase significantly in the coming year.
Koko further revealed that the Covide-19 pandemic has greatly affected efficient movement and clearing of goods from the port to the Inland .
The MD also revealed that work is ongoing to repair the road linking Apapa to the Port and that very soon, the road would be in good condition.
