Senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate differed from views, opinion and official statement of the government and that of Nigerian railway corporation (NRC) management on alleged explosion on Kaduna-Abuja rail tracks.
Senator Sani, in a statement in posted in social media personally revealed that the kaduna- Abuja train was practically attacked by Bandits through an explosive planted, and damaged the rail tracks.
According to him, the Bandits also shattered the windshield of the train engine and also targeted the driver and the tank of the moving train.
In a statement on Thursday night, Sani stated “Yesternight, Bandits attacked the Kaduna-Abuja train.
“They planted an explosive that damaged the rail track and shattered the windshield of the train engine.
“They also open fire, targeting the Driver and the Tank. It happened between Dutse and Rijana stations.
“The Driver struggled to move towards Kaduna Rigasa station”, he stated.
Sani further revealed that the train also ran over another explosive on Thursday morning.
“This early morning, I was on board when our train ran over another explosive damaged railings.
“The train nearly skid off its path then we miraculously escaped. All Kaduna Abuja train operations need to be suspended for today until this issue is addressed.
