I forgave you all that debt, do the same to others

Good morning my dearly beloved child of God. Hope you’re fine in the Lord? God is always there for us. We are God’s own. Jesus is our best teacher in everything. He cares for us more than we care for ourselves.
So, another new day with new opportunities has come, let us rejoice and be glad and not worry too much.

Today the scriptures remind us that we’re living in rebellious time in which people have ears, but do not hear or refused to hear and have eyes, but do not see or refused to see.

If the Lord forgives you, then you’re expected to forgive others as well. Indeed it’s very humiliating when others treat you as some kind of commodity that has a price tag. It is not just humiliation, but also a total disregard for the human dignity and for the human person.

When we are treated as a commodity, it means that we can be bought and sold for a price and the owner can do whatever he wants with us. Thus, it implies that we are not human beings; we are just things that are to be used and when we are of no use, we can be thrown away.

Sometimes, we make ourselves susceptible to such treatment because of our greed and our over ambition at any cost. This makes one to throw away, at little or no cost, what one has that makes one who one is, thus making one become nobody. Never you live your life on borrowed robes, be satisfied and manage what you have.

When Jesus told the parable of the servant who owned an enormous amount of money, the king had intended for him and his family to be sold in order to pay the debt.

That servant was treated as a thing because he was living on borrowed robes, but when he pleaded for mercy, the king cancelled his debt and treated him as a human being.

Well, that servant ought to have treated his fellow servant who owed him a much lesser amount, with the same dignity that the king treated him, since one good turn deserves another.

It has been often said that to err is human, but to forgive is divine; however we ought to know that also to forgive is also human. When we don’t forgive, we become less human, if not inhumane, and may attract to ourselves more severe consequences as seen happened to the servant with unforgiven spirit.

Know you that the measure you give will eventually be given to you. Also when we take forgiveness for granted, then we will become like the rebellious people who has ears, but do not hear and who has eyes, but do not see.

Yes, dear, if we know what is good for us, then certainly we would want to search for it and we would want to have it. After all, the human longing is for what is good, true, beautiful and loving. But what is good for us is often right before us but we fail to see it.

We all know that forgiveness is a beautiful thing and it is really good for us. Without forgiveness, life would be an ugly cycle of resentment and retaliation.

In today’s gospel, when Peter asked Jesus how often must he forgive his brother if he wrongs him, Peter was expecting that seven times would be more than enough. But Jesus told him that it is not just seven, but seventy-seven times!

Not just Peter is surprised, but we would be surprised too. How can we keep forgiving someone who is unrepentant?

But to forgive is to set a prisoner free, and to discover that prisoner is you. Indeed forgiveness has the power to free us from that ugly cycle of resentment and retaliation.

Remember, forgiveness does not change the past, but it will enlarge and make better the future for us. We all want a future that is good, beautiful and loving, not just for ourselves but for others as well.

But what is needed for that future is forgiveness. Those who are strong would want to forgive and walk towards that beautiful future.

We should not take God’s mercy and forgiveness for granted or we will receive the fate as the servant in today’s gospel who took it for granted. So, as we are forgiven, so too must we forgive other, if we want to live and be treated as human beings by others and thus deserve better future with God’s abundant mercies and blessings in Jesus name Amen.

Be blessed and loved always dearest child of God as we struggle together by his help. Just be happy and don’t worry dear child of God. Let Christ worry for you. Praying for you always.

A CHRISTIAN IS NOT JUST AN ORDINARY PERSON BUT A CHILD OF GOD! HAVE A BLESSED AND LOVELY DAY MY DEAR CHILD OF GOD.
