The Kebbi State Commissioner Ministry of Youth and Sports Development Alhaji Aliyu Gidado Kaliel, is optimistic that the state’s representatives, Kebbi BSC will outplay their opponents and emerge champions at the NIgeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) Super 4 Finals, which kicked off at the Murtala Square, Kaduna on Thursday July 29, 2021.
The Commissioner expressed this, while fielding questions from newsmen at the official opening ceremony of the competition on Thursday.
He said that they are the favourites because they rank top not just in Nigeria, but the entire Africa continent.
The Commissioner said that their Governor, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu is a sports lover and commits resources towards ensuring success of the state’s teams at all competitions.
When asked if they would be able to square up with Kada BSC, he was optimistic that no team will pose any threats to his boys.
The competition witnessed two competitive matches on Day One, which attracted several fans and spectators to the newly constructed beach soccer court.
In the official opening game, Kada BSC subdued hard fighting Kwara BSC.
The game ended 6-4 in favour of the hosts, who waited till the dying minutes to outdo their opponents.
Some notable dignitaries at the opening ceremony were, Director of Sports Kaduna, Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Chairman Sports Writers Association of NIgeria (SWAN), Kaduna State Chapter, Comrade Isaiah Kemje Benjamin, Secretary NIgeria Beach Soccer League, Taiye Olajide, Chairman Kaduna Beach Soccer Association, Engineer Musa Nimrod and Coordinator Nigeria Beach Soccer League and President African Beach Soccer Union, Mahmud Hadejia.
Action continues on Friday, with
Kwara squaring up with Kebbi in the first match, while KADA battle Smart City in the second game.
